Recently, the AE200 electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft (eVTOL), a fully self-developed strategic product by AEROFUGIA, successfully completed a full-scale, full-weight, full-envelope tilt-transition flight. This achievement marks AEROFUGIA as the first in China and the second globally to accomplish this type of test mission. It signifies a historic breakthrough in the development of Chinese eVTOL technology, placing the product’s technology at the forefront of intense international competition.
According to the latest edition of the “World eVTOL Aircraft Directory” published by the Vertical Flight Society, the number of eVTOL concepts worldwide has now surpassed 1,000.
Further subdividing the field, there are currently three main technological routes in the manned eVTOL sector: multi-rotor, compound wing, and tilt-rotor, with increasing levels of development difficulty. Among these, the tilt-rotor configuration stands out with significant advantages in range, speed, load capacity, and comfort. In this year’s ranking of companies engaged in eVTOL development by Mark Moore, published in Aviation Week, seven out of the top ten global companies have chosen the tilt-rotor configuration. AEROFUGIA is the only Chinese company among them.

The AE200 has now fully addressed all key technologies, including overall configuration, performance aerodynamics, flight control avionics, tilt-rotor mechanics, power energy, power distribution and environmental control, human factors engineering, and maintenance support. Notably, the verification of core system functional safety and fault reconstruction has laid a solid technical foundation for the mass production model. Simultaneously, the type certification for the AE200 is progressing steadily and efficiently, maintaining AEROFUGIA’s leading position in the certification process for manned eVTOLs both domestically and globally.
Going forward, AEROFUGIA will gradually build its capacity for mass production model delivery, accelerating the commercialization process of the AE200. Meanwhile, it will continuously collaborate with upstream and downstream enterprises in the low-altitude economy to develop an ecosystem, offering more diverse travel options for people and injecting greater momentum into the development of the low-altitude economy.
